Astoundingly stupid "experts"

Astoundingly stupid "experts"

This is just jaw-droppingly absurd:
"The influence of the sun is utterly negligible," said Tom Wigley, a climate expert at the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research. "Compared with the human influence on climate, it is a very minor effect."
Consider that all of the energy that the earth receives is from the sun. And that the polar icecaps on Mars have been visibly shrinking over the last 40 years. And that there is a new storm on Jupiter the size of the Earth.

Now consider whether these "experts" have any common sense at all.

It is unlikely that we have no effect, but the Sun clearly has a major effect on climate. Not including the solar effects would invalidate any findings. Yeah, I was pretty surprised when I read that, too.

I never get tired of reading stuff like this. You can find someone to say almost anything ridiculous if you look hard enough.

Next they'll be telling us the oceans cooling is because of global warming, or more snow this century is because of global warming, or that most glaciers are growing because of global warming.

Oh wait, they did. ha ha

Never mind.

Kevin G, I didn't mistake "the sun" for "changes in solar luminosity", nor did I say that the sun's influence is utterly negligible, as Tom Wigley did. And I am also aware that much of the Martian polar caps are made of CO2 ice, which has a much lower sublimation point than water.
